Watkins Family DNA Project (USA & Canada)

Members of the Watkins Family History Society have set up through Ancestry.com its Watkins Family DNA Project (formerly with Relative Genetics, which Ancestry took over). Participating in the DNA Project is a great way to find relatives around the world. The testing is simple (cotton swabbing of the mouth with the simple kit coming in the mail and then sent back). The DNA Project test markers on the Y-Chromosome, which are handed down from father to son, etc. Therefore, this testing is for males with a continuous male Watkins lineage. Females can help by getting a male Watkins relative to participate. Details on this Project are at http://www.dna.ancestry.com/welcome.aspx. The bottom of the Home page has a great FAQ section. I recommend taking the 67-marker test as this gives the strongest connection to a possible relative.
Note: there is also a Watkins DNA Project available through Family Tree DNA.
Thank you.
