According to his Discharge from the 1st Battalion 39th Regiment of Foot at Fort Chambly Quebec Canada in January 1815, JAMES WATKINS was born in the Parish(Civil?) of Linton? in or near the Town of Hereford,County of Hereford.
Shown as a volunteer from the Hereford Militia,he enlisted at the age of 18
in the 2nd Battalion 39th Foot on 25 August 1807 in the Town of Hereford.
I have a muster listing of his movements 1807 to 1815 and fairly complete
family tree of JAMES' Family in Canada.

Unfortuately, I don't know his parents names especially his mother's maiden name so my ancestor and sibling search is very difficult. In addition,
"James Watkins" was a popular name with as many as 7 James' born in 1779 in Hereford.

I would appreciate any information or suggestions to continue this search.

I'm the oldest member in the 7th generation from JAMES in his son William's
branch: Leonard James Watkins born in Drummondville,Quebec.

I am researching my family history,where my Mothers Matron of Honor at her wedding in 1929, was Gertrude M. Dally Watkins.
I would like to find out where Gertrude fits into the Dally Watkins family tree? Was she related to Major David Dally Watkins?
In Australian BDM's I can only find her death in 1932. Father Albert, Mother Mary A. There is no record of Gertrudes Birth or a Marraige.
