Brush valley is in Indiana County and east of Pittsburgh maybe 40 miles. About half way between Pitts burgh and Altoona. The only thing I know about Bryner was that he was a truck driver. I am 62 yrs old so he would have to be at least 80 if he is still with us.

That's too bad, please keep the message board going.

I do have a question, does anyone have the bible of Stephen Watkins III, born 1763 in Anne Arundel, died in Monongalia Virginia and married to Sarah Wilson Miller?
I would love to see it or have copies of the ancestral information. Someone said they had it and my gg grandfather Marcellus Watkins, his dad, Brice Gassaway Watkins, Nancy McDaniel and many other family members were mentioned in it.

Thanks,

George and Esther (Hester) Watkins - Gloucestershire

Post by Kylie, 02-09-2011, 05:58:

Hi
I'm looking for information on where George and Esther Watkins went to. Any further information on George's ancestors would also be greatfully accepted.
George Watkins and Esther Lewis were married 27 Sep 1856 at the Parkend chapel, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. George was aged 21, listed as a bachelor and occupied as a collier, resident of Pillowell, father William (occupation labourer). Esther, spinster, aged 19, resident of Pillowell, father Esau (occupation collier).
Esther's birth record and 1841 and 1851 census' note her name as Hester, subsequent records are 'Esther'. (Two of Esther's sister's were known to have emigrated initially to NZ, with respective husband's and family.)
A 1861 census shows a George (b 1835, West Dean) and Esther Watkins (b 1837, Berkeley) with children William (b 1857, West Dean) and Sarah Jane (b 1860, West Dean) living in West Dean, Gloucestershire. George is listed as a coal miner. (Likely to be the family.)
I can't find the family after this.
Many thanks,
Kylie.

Jane Watkins, Philadelphia

Reply from JudiButtala, 19-08-2011, 03:00:

» I am looking for verification that Jane Watkins (her father was a carpenter
» in Philadelphia) married a Benjamin Loxley (carpenter) in 1742-1743.

Hi G. Baker,
I am not sure you are still searching for this information but I am an ancestor from Catherine Cox, Benjamin Loxley's 2nd wife. From the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians , it states that Benjamin Loxley and Jane Watkins Loxley had three sons. I have to look closer at my notes, but I have written that Benjamin Loxley 3rd married Mary Pryor and Abram was wounded at the Battle of Trenton and died in 1779 as a result of his wounds sustained during the Battle of Trenton. No notes of the 3rd son.

Reply from cvsnip, 11-08-2011, 16:49:

» Looking for info on Edmund George Watkins born 1810 in Steuben New York. They had 6 children: Charles Henry, John Stronge, Juliana Priscilla,
» Abigaile Melissa, Nancy Amamda,Diantha Orillia. Love to hear from you if
» you are of this family line.

I am his great-great granddaughter through John Stronge. I show a 7th child, George Blakely Watkins, who was born and passed on the same day, Mar 13, 1849, in Illinois. I've gotten this far, but am at a roadblock now. There are four possible matches for Edmund's father, supposedly Joseph, but they all show his being born in 1901 in Mississippi, with a spouse of Julia Ana Ranney, and a child of Edmund George Watkins. NOT POSSIBLE!! Edmund died in 1889, and Julia in 1835. Have you found any other information???
